Hayes Alum Earns 1st Place at National Beta Convention

Fayette County Public Schools sends a huge shoutout to Evy Maggard of Edythe J. Hayes Middle, who won first place in Onsite Art Painting at the 2026 Junior National Beta Convention. June’s theme in Nashville, Tennessee, was “Wired for Success.” Evy, who had placed third in the spring’s statewide competition, is now a rising freshman at Lafayette High School. 

National Beta Club – the largest independent, nonprofit, educational youth organization in the country – recognizes high academic achievement, rewards and nurtures worthy character, fosters leadership skills, and encourages service to others.
