Lafayette Earns ‘Best Show’ Nod at Southeastern Theatre Conference

Lafayette Earns ‘Best Show’ Nod at Southeastern Theatre Conference

Lafayette High School students performed “James and the Giant Peach” at the 2026 Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC) and raked in awards for Best Costumes, Overall Technical Excellence, Best Comedic Duo (Reece Owens and Grace Hellard), and Best Show. In addition, Tyler Terrell and Logan Gwynn were named to the All-Star Cast.

This is the third time Lafayette has secured Best Show honors at SETC and only the fourth time a school from Kentucky has won. “To say we are honored and thrilled is an understatement!” said theater teacher and director Amie Dunn Kisling.

In addition, Lafayette had eight students audition/interview for performance and technical theater college programs, and together they received 328 callbacks and over $198,000 in scholarship offers during this month’s SETC gathering in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
